The Nesslerhof has been awarded a Michelin Key

One Key and an accolade that means far more to us than a new symbol beside our name: Hotel Nesslerhof in Großarl has been awarded one MICHELIN Key.

This recognition places our family-run 5-star luxury wellness hotel in Austria’s Salzburg Alps among the hotels distinguished by the MICHELIN Guide. For us, the MICHELIN Key is above all a recognition of what we have been creating together for many years: a place with a character all of its own.

A place deeply connected to nature, with generous spaces, thoughtful design and just the right touch of luxury – surrounded by the mountains of the Großarl Valley in the Austrian Alps. But above all, a place shaped by people who believe that genuine hospitality comes from the heart.

Nesslerhof is not a hotel concept that could simply be recreated somewhere else. Our family-run hotel is deeply rooted in the Großarl Valley in Austria’s Salzburg Alps. The mountains are not simply something you admire through floor-to-ceiling windows – they are part of everyday life here.

Local timber, natural stone and warm materials bring the surrounding Alpine landscape indoors, while the mountains of Großarl begin right outside our door.

At the same time, we do not believe luxury needs to feel distant or formal. For us, luxury can be warm, personal and wonderfully uncomplicated.

For us, an essential part of natural happiNESS is the freedom to simply do nothing for a while.

At Spa by ness, spacious pool and wellness areas meet the natural beauty of the Großarl Valley in the Austrian Alps. Swim in our 25-metre heated outdoor infinity pool, reconnect with nature at the 800 m² Living Garden natural swimming pond, retreat to the Adults-Only Spa with its saltwater outdoor pool, or slow down in our new Onsen Pool, inspired by Japanese bathing culture.

Saunas, steam baths and spacious relaxation areas complete the experience, alongside yoga, Reformer Pilates, massages and beauty treatments – creating plenty of ways to move, unwind and recharge.

Our 86 rooms and suites combine natural Alpine materials, generous living spaces and beautiful views of the Salzburg Alps.

For even more privacy, our Private Spa Suites feature their own sauna, whirlpool or private pool. A truly special hideaway is the 194 m² Bergmagie Pool Suite, complete with a rooftop terrace, year-round heated infinity pool, private outdoor sauna and fireplace – your own private retreat high above everyday life.

For us, luxury does not need to be loud. It is something you feel – in the sense of space, the natural materials, the thoughtful details and the freedom to simply enjoy the moment.

Cuisine with a sense of place and a signature of its own

For us, the flavours of the region are an essential part of the Nesslerhof experience.

From a leisurely breakfast and afternoon snack to our five-course dinner, food is part of the journey throughout the day. Regional and seasonal ingredients take centre stage, alongside genuine craftsmanship. Some of the meat we serve comes from our own family butchery, reflecting our commitment to quality and provenance.

Our cuisine may be refined, but it never loses sight of where it comes from. It is this combination of quality, regionality and creativity that defines the culinary experience at Nesslerhof.

And because an exceptional meal deserves the right wine, our wine cellar is an equally important part of the experience.
