What is the new Onsen Pool at Nesslerhof?
Starting summer 2026, an outdoor onsen pool (11 m²) will complete our water world — inspired by the Japanese hot spring bathing tradition. Unlike a classic swimming pool, the onsen isn't about swimming laps: it's about mindful stillness. Warm, mineral-rich water, a reduced, natural design, and full focus on a single moment of calm.
The Onsen Pool at Nesslerhof is deliberately kept small and intimate — a place to pause, not to swim lengths. Set within the natural landscape of the Großarltal valley, with mountain views and, depending on the time of day, a clear alpine night sky, it connects centuries-old Japanese mindfulness tradition with our Alpine surroundings. For us, it's the natural next step for a hotel built on natural happiness: real slowing down that you feel, not just see.

Our selection of pools is huge and includes, for example, an outdoor infinity pool with amazing panoramic views of the Grossarl Valley — a view which, we have to admit, is particularly breath-taking from our spa hotel in the Austrian Alps.
Our entire spa area is actually quite special and is open for you to use during your entire stay with us. Put on your swimsuit and jump in, no matter the weather — our pool and heated outdoor pool are open year-round. The only thing we wouldn’t recommend in winter is our natural swimming pond surrounded by our sprawling sunbathing lawn ...
