The Nesslerhof focuses on educational quality

A special evening for vocational training in Salzburg: at the first major “Apprenticeship Gala” at the Residenz zu Salzburg, we were recently honored once again with the “Excellent Salzburg Apprenticeship Company” seal of approval. This joint initiative of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce and the province of Salzburg underlines the importance of dual vocational training in our province. Salzburg is the Austrian leader in dual vocational training. Almost half of all compulsory school leavers in this country still opt for a career with an apprenticeship. One in five complete the ‘Apprenticeship with baccalaureate’ program.

Host Hermann Neudegger: “Teaching has shaped me”

Hermann Neudegger knows how valuable a solid apprenticeship is. His career began in the kitchen - with an apprenticeship that still shapes him today:

"It was nice to experience how everyone in the company helped together. Even the bosses were in the thick of it instead of just being there - that left an impression. It is precisely this team spirit that we want to pass on to our apprentices today."

The head of the company sees great development opportunities in today's world: "I see a huge opportunity today to develop further after the apprenticeship. Regardless of whether it's as a site manager, chef or hotel manager. In the hotel and catering sector, there are now also more opportunities to lease a business. There are many career opportunities and if you really enjoy it and are enthusiastic about it, you will make a career out of it."

His advice to the next generation: an apprenticeship with a school-leaving certificate. Because that way, all paths are open - whether in the profession, in further education or even in self-employment.
