Golden autumn in the Valley of the Alpine Pastures

In autumn the Großarl Valley shows its most intense colours: golden larch forests, clear mountain air and wide views towards the Hohe Tauern. The alpine pastures belong to the walkers again, and the paths are much quieter than in high season. The valley has around 40 alpine huts serving food and drink, ideal for family walks with a stop for refreshments.

  • Alpine pasture walks with a stop at a mountain hut
  • High-level paths with views of golden larch woods
